HOTEL Sønderborg Kaserne lays majestically along the old quay in Sønderborg – just as the barracks have done for generations.
Here you can experience an old barracks that underwent a major renovation during the winter of 2019. Now the barracks is again ready to house many people. However, this time, the shoe polish, metal lockers and bunk beds have been replaced with more modern surroundings in the form of soft beds and a lovely breakfast close to Alssund Strait.
All suites at HOTEL Sønderborg Kaserne are divided into a living room, bedroom and bathroom, and all rooms are individually furnished with a double bed, desk, sofa and TV.
Most of the rooms also have a balcony with a beautiful view to the life in the harbour district of Byens Havn.

We arrived and received a friendly, warm and helpful welcome. The room was fantastic and there was a welcome gift for guests. We have been to other hotels in South Jutland, where the TV has more German programmes than Danish, but not here, and that is a pleasure. t’s also great that as a guest, you are not dependent on a traditional room keys, as we can come and go with their smart system.
We highly recommend HOTEL Sønderborg Kaserne, and we will return, but next time it will be for a longer stay.

Perfect for meetings
We were four people who needed to hold a morning meeting. We got a lovely room that was perfect for the meeting. There was a formidable view of Dybbøl Mill, Alssund Strait and Sønderborg Castle. We were greeted with a smile, freshly brewed coffee and bread.
I would recommend the place. There is a great atmosphere, and the hotel is very central to many experiences.

Sønderborg is a fantastic city with a vibrant harbor environment, even the royal ship was here today. The hotel is brand new with large & beautiful rooms. Everything is clean and nice. Luxurious breakfast buffet – fx. with champagne, scrambled eggs, bacon, a large selection of cold cuts
and a whole lot of other things. Highly recommended!

This is absolutely the best budget hotel I ever stayed in! Rooms are huge, well equipped and freshly renovated.
Great beds. If you can live without a large lobby and reception if feels like a top quality hotel.
The breakfast was perfectly stocked.

This is absolutely the best budget hotel I have ever stayed at! The rooms are large, well equipped and newly renovated and have large beds. If you can do without a large lobby/reception, this feels like an upscale hotel. The breakfast was perfectly stocked. Highly recommendable!

HOTEL Sønderborg Kaserne is in the heart of Sønderborg, from where most attractions are within walking distance. For example, make your way to the new Multikulturhus Cultural Centre, Sønderborg Castle, Sønderborghus Cultural Centre, Alsion, Borgen Shopping, the pedestrian street and the many different restaurants at the harbour and in the town. In addition, historic Dybbøl Banke is just a 5-minute drive away.
Transport
The train station and bus station are also a short distance from the hotel, while Sønderborg Airport is only a 10-minute drive.
